Research Library and Museum

The Draper Historical Society Research Library & Museum is maintained by volunteers who have collected hundreds of items from Draper's past. The museum features thousands of historical items, including pioneer artifacts, articles and stories of residents, tools, personal items, period clothing, musical instruments, pictures, maps, obituaries, dolls and lace, farming equipment, eggs production items, sports memorabilia, World War I memorabilia, and much more.

Established to encourage the study of Draper's history, the museum, art gallery, library, and archives promote the preservation, proper organization, and publication of authentic historical records and artifacts. 

The Draper Historical Society has many items for sale. Below is a list of the books currently have available.

The Draper Historical Society has composed a library of historical interviews with citizens of Draper who may be alive or passed on and recordings of a few events held in Draper over the years. All are available to view by appointment at the Draper Historical Society Museum. Copies can be purchased at the Museum for $5.00 each.

Donations

The Draper Historical Society strives to acquire and preserve for the use of the Society and the public, objects and materials that illuminate the history of Draper and encourages the donation of artifacts that will be displayed. Donations to the Draper Historical Society have enabled us to create a wonderful museum and showcase many historical artifacts. The museum is presently trying to acquire the following:

  • Pre-1940s clocks
  • Pioneer pictures
  • Pre-1940s phones
  • Wood churn
  • Recording of Kate Smith singing "God Bless America"
  • Pre-1940s musical instruments
  • Telephone switchboard
  • Coffee grinder
  • Tack saddle
  • Yearbooks

Donations to the Draper Historical Society have enabled us to create a wonderful museum and showcase many historical artifacts. We welcome your continued donations to the museum.
