Council Member Bryn Heather Johnson

Bryn is passionate about preserving Draper’s history, charm, and sense of community, which she fell in love with when she and her family moved here in 2008. These priorities were instilled in her as a young girl growing up just outside of Washington, DC. She spent many happy hours visiting historical sites and museums and learning about our nation’s history. She was blessed to grow up near and work in Old Town Alexandria, an area of the country with a strong sense of maintaining a city’s identity and history.  Bryn first came to Utah to attend BYU. She met her husband, graduated, and had her first child in Utah. She and her family then moved back to the DC area after her husband completed law school.

After seven wonderful years of raising her five small children back East, her husband was offered a job in Utah that they decided to accept.  When picking a place to live in the Salt Lake Valley, Bryn quickly fell in love with Draper.

Soon after moving to Draper, Bryn began volunteering within the Draper community. Since 2008, she has served in the following volunteer capacities: School Community Council, Executive Board of the Parent/Teacher Association, and most recently as a Draper Historic Preservation Commission member.

Bryn is committed to retaining the qualities that drew her to Draper back in 2008, such as the charm she felt that reminded her of what she experienced in her hometown growing up, open spaces, a family-friendly atmosphere, and the sense of community that has made living in Draper an amazing experience for her and her family.

Term expires January 2028.
