Council Member Kathryn Dahlin

Kathryn Dahlin began her service on the City Council in January of 2026. She and her husband, Eric, moved to Draper in 2013 and love being a part of this wonderful community. Kathryn believes in collaboration and problem-solving to achieve sound policy. She is committed to ensuring that future development in Draper is made without sacrificing the unique character of our community. In her role on the City Council, Kathryn will prioritize planning for transportation and infrastructure needs while also protecting our trails and open spaces.

Kathryn has extensive professional experience in transportation and housing policy. After attending Brigham Young University, she moved to Washington, DC and worked as a legislative aide in the United States Senate. Kathryn specialized in a number of issue areas, including transportation, technology, and housing. As a senior aide for Utah Senator Bob Bennett, she worked directly with Utah cities, including Draper, on funding for key priorities. In 2012, she transitioned to being a full-time parent and now has four children.

Kathryn is currently president of the local elementary school PTA Board of Directors and sits on the Draper Park Middle School Community Council. She follows local, state, and national politics and has served as a state and county delegate as well as in her neighborhood precinct leadership. Kathryn is a passionate advocate for fiscal responsibility at all levels of government and supports efforts in our city to maintain a high level of service while keeping our tax rates low. She has advocated (in person and in Guest Opinion articles in the Deseret News) for transparency and accountability from our government and government officials, and brings her commitment to good governance to this role on the Draper City Council.

Kathryn and her family love to be outside exploring our beautiful city and state. Other hobbies include budgeting, cheering for her kids at Draper Recreation sporting events, traveling, and music.

Term expires January 2030.
