Draper City has applied to the Utah State Forester for permission to continue a ban on the discharge of personal fireworks for the Pioneer Day period (July 22-25).
Mayor Walker, as the City's budget official, is proposing that the City Council approve a 25% increase in the property tax rate for the 2026–27 fiscal year. This is part of a balanced, multi-year approach with modest adjustments (some years higher, some lower) to achieve stable funding for public safety without sudden, more substantial increases.
After careful evaluation, the Draper City Council has approved a transition from City-managed garbage and recycling service to a contract with ACE Recycling and Disposal, effective August 17, 2026.
Draper City has contracted with Morgan Pavement for pavement maintenance on various city streets. Work began on April 30, with expected completion by September.

In addition to changes to the law related to e-motorcycles, the Utah State Legislature approved changes to the law related to e-bicycles, motor-assisted scooters, and other motorized vehicles and devices.
In the 2026 legislative session, the Utah Legislature made some changes to state law regarding electric vehicles, including e-motorcycles. These changes take effect on May 6, 2026.
Curbside glass recycling service is changing. Account creation is required by September 15.
