Truth-in-Taxation Public Hearing August 13
Truth-in-Taxation Public Hearing August 13
Overview
In fiscal year 2025, Draper City's total property tax rate was the combination of a general operations tax rate and a bond debt payment rate.
The bond debt is now fully paid, but the City proposes to maintain the 2025 tax rate in fiscal year 2026 to fund rising operating costs. Because this shift increases general fund revenue by $935,965, Draper City is required to hold a Truth-in-Taxation hearing, even though the total tax rate would remain the same.
Truth-in-Taxation Public Hearing
Draper City will hold a Truth in Taxation public hearing on Tuesday, Aug. 13, at 6:00 PM in the council chambers at City Hall, to allow the city council to hear any input on the City’s proposal to keep the total tax rate the same.
Following the hearing, the Council will approve the final tax rate for the City, formally completing the fiscal year 2026 budget process.
