Public Safety

Draper City provides the following public safety services for its residents:

Police Department - Draper City has had its own Police Department since 2003.  The city has a Chief of Police, a Deputy Chief, eight sergeants, an Animal Control Supervisor and a Records Supervisor, and many other officers and employees who work for the police department.   
Fire Department - Draper City currently contracts with Unified Fire Authority for its fire services.  The City is currently creating its own Fire Department and the city will take over fire services starting July 1, 2017. The City hired Clint Smith as their new fire chief and he started working at the city in the last quarter of 2016.  

Emergency Preparedness - Draper City has put together an Emergency Operations Plan for the City and they will have an Emergency Operation Center set up at Draper City Hall  in the event of a natural or man-made disaster.  The city hired a part-time Emergency Services Coordinator, Scott Chatwin, to handle management of emergency plans and coordination with the Emergency Preparedness Committee members and the District Representatives program.
